Reunited

The airport was crowded as Angel waited for Mike’s plane to arrive. Shouldn’t be long now, according to the monitors. They waited so long for this moment that she was actually nervous now. They hadn’t seen each other in person for nearly a year. Of course, with modern technology, they talked almost every day. So many possibilities, but none of them came close to actually touching each other. To smell each other’s scent. To feel each other’s breath when their lips touched. The soft moaning when their tongues played. But most importantly, the feeling of holding each other. Angel wondered if she would be able to stop herself from bursting through the crowd, or running to him the moment he comes in sight. The monitors changed information; his plane landed…

When the doors finally opened, an older couple were the first to walk out, smiling happily. A young child in the crowd screamed “Grandma!” and started running towards them. ‘How sweet’, Angel thought as she watched the scene. She smiled a little and looked back at the double doors. A woman with a baby, followed by a man who looked bored. Normally she would have wondered why he looked that way, but her mind was completely blank, she was too anxious now. A man in a fancy suit, another older couple, two young girls and finally that familiar face.
